Cumbria Teaching Agency are experiencing a high demand for Care Workers and Support Staff to work in a variety of Children’s Residential Homes across the County.
This is AGENCY WORK, but we have so many shifts that you can work full time or part time or even fit it in around another job.
If you have Care Work experience or are studying towards a Health Care, Social Care or Education based qualification – We want to hear from you!
These care and education organisations work with children and young adults with SEN, SEBD and Complex Needs. Your role as a Support Worker is to look after the well-being of vulnerable people.
You are there to assist these children/young adults to live their ‘day to day’ lives as independently as possible in a residential setting, either 1:1 or in a small group. Some children can have challenging behaviour, but you will be briefed on each child at the start of each shift.
Tasks can include:
- Indoor/Outdoor Activities
- Taking Children Shopping
- Supervision Contact Visits
- Preparing Meals
- Cleaning the home
- Updating Care Records
- Assistance with personal care – in some cases.
Shifts can vary from:
- Days: 8.00am -10.00pm
- Evenings: 5.00pm – 10.00pm
- Weekends: 8.00am -10.00pm
- Waking Watch 10.00pm - 8.00am (This requires you to stay awake overnight)
- Sleep in Shifts: 10.00pm – 8.00am (This requires you to sleep overnight)
Some shifts pay up to £240 per shift!!
